It's rather eye - and ear opening - to realize how much of the Charlie X music found it's way into other episodes. Does anyone know which episode's music was reused the most often? Really impressed with the previously unheard level of detail in some of these cues.
Yes that's when it is most obvious. Scott, I don't have the tracks in front of me to confirm which one it is. I'm starting disc 2 now. Have some thoughts formulating about the first two discs but need another listen before I post anything. It's making for great commutes to work I must say. :) I...
The same holds absolutely true for me too. I just note the occasional harshness out of a desire to have the music cranked up high but find I have to dial it down because of said harshness. LalaLand has done an amazing job with the set and I am fully endorse that it was released preserving the...
Late to the party. Did not score an autographed copy. :( Have listened to the first disc only so far. Great stuff. Have not seen any mention of the Gary Mitchell track 22 in this thread - where he is speed reading. It is one I always liked because it beautifully underscores Mitchell's...
Yes let me echo Scott's thanks, Lee. Wonderful posts and I like forward to discovering the points you made in them when I finally get back from XMas vacation to open them.
Woohoo! My set broke the energy barrier and arrived at my doorstep in the Great White North today. Something to look forward to when I get back from our holiday vacation next year.
Hmm, when I put it that way, that seems like a long time away.
I find the Tony Bremner Star Trek Symphonic Suite of, 'The Paradise Syndrome, ' to be a wonderful interpretation, and fairly faithful, rendition of that episode score.
Watched, 'The Changeling,' last night and this thread has activated an additional sensory level of viewing for me. This episode has no original music scored for it as far as I could discern - though someone is sure to correct me ;) - but I sure did hear cues from many other episodes.
This is...
Correct Scott.
The Doomsday score always had that the Spinal Tap Volume Level Eleven setting sound to it. Its more pronounced during the brass moments.
I have that CD and never noticed any distortion and assumed any lack of fidelity was due to the source material. Listening to the recently released samples of other cues, their fidelity does sound better though.
Ah yes, the Harlan Ellison written episode with Robert Culp. Awesome episode!
Haven't watched The Outer Limits in a long while either. Man, really need to revisit some of these classics. Scott, have you posted your thoughts of the Season 1 CD anywhere for perusal?
