    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I've grown to dislike those big plastic cases CBS uses for these big multi-season sets in recent years. I barely watch the sets I have in those. Many discs are held in a death grip, some of the hubs/prongs are out of shape enough that discs won't go back on without a struggle, it's annoying to...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I keep looking for Combat! at my local Wal-Mart, but still no luck. Disappoints me that CBS apparently isn't going to reissue this on their own now that the DVD rights have returned. Glad they did it with The Twilight Zone at least and I believe I understand why they didn't with The Dick Van...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Opened my complete series Cheers set last night and wondered about something. Season one and season two lack a play all function on the two discs that I watched a few episodes on. I didn't get a bootleg set, did I? Unless Shout's season one discs for complete set of The Phil Silvers Show are...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Alas it's not a complete series release, but I've seen a combined season 1/2 set for My Three Sons at Wal-Mart in recent days in this style of case that we've seen many of these multi-season CBS reissues appear in. I wonder if they'll ever get to Combat!. They've seemingly reprinted every...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Judging by the expense of the old Image sets before CBS entered the picture, they didn't overproduce and saturate the market with The Twilight Zone, leaving sales for CBS to go after. I think it's telling that we've yet to see a CBS version for The Dick Van Dyke Show, considering how many of...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Tracked down all but season 1 of Becker last Fall for a Christmas gift (The set seemed non-existent; Couldn't even find region 1 used sets on Ebay), including buying the later MOD sets new. :(

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

The Phil Silvers Show escaped and was brought to completion with an excellent release by Shout Factory (Although it annoys me that the discs all lack a play-all option). Was hoping that was just the start, but nothing much else has happened with their idled classic shows.

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Nice to see it confirmed. I won't be getting it this year, but I hope I don't miss my chance in 2017. It's down at the sort of price point that I had hoped the Image counterpart would make it to, but never did except perhaps briefly. I hope they'll have news about their own DVD complete series...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I got a feeling that unlike with The Twilight Zone, Image overproduced this one. Has to be a reason why so many of us got the excellent complete series Blu-Ray set for next to nothing. Even now you can log on to Amazon and buy it for $60, which is still a steal. I hope they turned a profit at...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I noticed Wal-Mart has a big Gunsmoke set now with the first 4 seasons or so of the show, much like how many of these complete series released have paired down versions for Wal-mart with a substantial portion of the show's run (Like the Andy Griffith Show release with just the B&W seasons).

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Haven't seen this one yet, but I have seen most of the Milwaukee years as standalone season sets here and there at local Wal-Marts recently with the TV Guide slipcovers. So if anyone has a hole or two to fill with this one like I did, go take a look and see what you find. Still missing season...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Saw something that confused me at Wal-Mart the other day. They had the first 4 or 5 seasons of Hogan's Heroes and it was in a large plastic case exactly like what houses the bulk of the run of I Love Lucy in last Fall's rerelease. I think they wanted $35 for it. Are they doing something...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Bizarre, but not new. Their I Love Lucy reissue from last Fall was the same way, although oddly enough, it's reportably been evenly split across three cases in a subsequent production run in the weeks since then. And at least in the case of I love Lucy, the outer disc in the large case...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Sounds like a good move. The big case that houses the first five seasons or so is a bit unwieldy, so I'm not sure why they didn't take this approach to begin with. Assuming these cases are similar to the smaller case that holds the latter part of I Love Lucy with last Fall's release, another...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

All of the talk about CBS stripping out bonus discs made me go looking for the movie disc with their latest I Love Lucy set. Sure enough it seems to be absent. The disc count is even 1 less than the last complete series release that included it, confirming that I didn't miss it as I searched...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

Except that I believe a good bit of that which didn't, went along for the ride anyways since the folks working on these couldn't differentiate with certainty just what library that every last thing came from. And with stuff like incidental music playing in the background like say on a jukebox...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

The Fugitive doesn't seem to have required much more than just excising the heebie jeebies about things like the Capitol cues. The Odd Couple would require more than just soothing a few overeager law interns and would require real money to be invested in acquiring a wide variety of licenses...

    CBS/Paramount Complete Series Craze

I think with Laverne & Shirley having finished on DVD less than a year ago, and with Happy Days a ways away from completion (A potential marketing opportunity bringing out both simultaneously), I wouldn't be surprised to see them hold off on it until later on. But then again, we already have a...
