Tony G. has spotted that the bass management might not even work on the 45a. (I'm going to try to test my 47ai later on.) But I go all large on the player, and use the 80 Hz analog crossover in the Outlaw 950.
Brent- Yes. But it was the DVD, not the player in my case. (I bought a few of those "previously viewed" ones from a rental store. Last time I'll do that... I'll return it, but I didn't save enough money to "gamble" with the quality of discs I got.)
I've gotten analog audio out of the 45a from a CD. Through the 2 channel outputs, as well as through the L & R of the 5.1 outputs. Maybe a setting somewhere...
Brian- Not yet. I'm worried, because I ordered 2 other discs, and I got those. I'm wondering if they are sold out. It's the Super Audio Collection & prof Test Disc (*not* an SACD).
BL- Let us know what the crossover is when you find out. (I'm guessing 120 Hz. :) )
I have a discrete test tone disc, and if I get can my sorry butt motivated, I'll try to find out too...
I tried this on my player. I only had to bump up the sub by 2 dB on the Pioneer's menu to get it to read right. So mine must not have the problem. Here's how I did it just in case I did something wrong: Outlaw 950, using the analog bass management (80 Hz x-over) on the 5.1 analog inputs. Vs...
