Matt- Yes, if I could get the kind of surround/rear speakers that I think would work as well with my room as my current Def Techs from Vandersteen, I would. :)

Vandersteen simply does not have a lot of choices for surrounds/rear(s) speakers. So I choose to stick with Def Tech.

Matt- I may be crazy, but I actually had 20 (!) *matched* 6.5" drivers all around. BP-30's in front with a C/L/R 2000. And BP-20's in back with a C/L/R 1000B. (The 30's, 2000, and 1000 all had the 1" pure Al tweeter, but the older 20's had the silk (?) fabric tweeters.)

I agree with the front 3 being the most important. And in fact, at least in my case, I believe I have a *better* sounding system by *thoughtful* (hee, hee) selection of speakers from different manufacturers between front and back.
I used to have Def Tech all around:
BP-30 mains
CLR 2000 center
BP-20 surrounds
CLR 1000B rear
With a Vandersteen V2W sub.
But the literature and reviews for "phase correct" and "time aligned" speakers got to me. :) I now have:
