Gave this a final spin for the season, being that I originally received a defective copy from Best Buy, to see if it would act up after three plays (because many times this happens with UHD media for some reason), and it played with no issues.

Just as an update regarding my new copy of the disc....watched it all the way through last night and still no issues with this one. I will give it a third spin at some point before the spooky season is over to ensure it's a keeper.

Was this warning marketing ever on any other media release of this title? I ask because that's precisely why I mentioned it in my post -- if it was referring to JUST this new 4K release, it didn't seem (to ME) that the warning was warranted because it didn't come across as significantly...

Watched it last night, and don't really understand the need for the warnings all over the packaging regarding the light effects that may cause issues in certain people with vision/balance/dizziness impairments and such; the HDR pass was bright in certain places, yes, but not anything I'd call...

Hey....you never know! We had that debacle where Disney completely f---ed up the 4K transfer of Pirates of the Caribbean (imagine that?) and folks immediately recommended sticking to the 1080p Blu-ray for "superiority." I realize that's a 1080 vs. 2160 comparison, not of a DVD, but... But...

My copy shipped; looking forward to comparing it to the old DVD I have suffered with.

Stephen, Where did you hear about the HDR grade or anything else about the transfer? Was it somewhere earlier in the thread and I just missed it, or did you read about it somewhere else? I didn't see any pre-release reviews online the last I checked, but perhaps they're out there now... EDIT...

You're the one who just made that political -- not me. I didn't say anything about "snowflakes," I merely likened the warnings being talked about to the kind being splashed all over cable transmissions nowadays via channel scheduling menus. I stand by what I said. I didn't insinuate anything...

No, you sure won't convince me. The inclusion of those "warnings" is an absolute joke and is completely unrelated to warnings about explicit lyrics or any other such reference. This wasn't going anywhere near politics, unless someone wanted to specifically take it there, and I wasn't prepared...

Well, I was referring more to the way -- and I should have made this clearer, granted -- cable or satellite providers are now including these trigger warnings for a younger generation that can't handle subjects such as slavery or sexual assault (in older films, mind you) in the plot descriptions...

The artwork on both the steelbook AND slipcase variants is terrible -- I ordered the slipcase version, which is gearing up to be shipped.

...or possible elements that will "trigger" folks not used to uncensored forms of so-called "sensitive" content (as seen with the warnings channels like TCM puts out when showing classics like Gone With the Wind)...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Day One purchase for me. The original flipper DVD I own (when Warner had the distribution rights) looks ATROCIOUS being upscaled to 2160p resolution on a 65-inch display, especially those opening credits -- yikes!
