I’m watching Lucy Gallant (1955) on TCM. Just as charming and entertaining as I remember. Any chance of seeing this released on home video through your deal with Paramount?
Should Kino solidify future Universal deals, I’d love to see the following make their U.S. Blu-ray (and in some cases worldwide) debut:
Only Yesterday (1933)
So Red the Rose (1935)
Private Worlds (1935)
The Moon’s Our Home (1936)
Invitation to Happiness (1939)
Unfinished Business (1941)...
I’ve tried to keep up with the Kino/Paramount release announcements. Unless I missed one, there should be 5 unannounced 70s titles and 3 unannounced 80s titles. My wishlist includes:
70s
Darling Lili
Plaza Suite
The Red Tent
Bang the Drum Slowly
Sidney Sheldon’s Bloodline
80s
First Monday in...
Mr. Insider, any chance of getting Bloodline (1979) on blu ray through your current or a future deal with Paramount? I know- it bombed… badly. And yet, talk about a cast- Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Omar Sharif, Irene Papas, Beatrice Straight, Gert Frobe, Romi Schneider, Claudia...
YES to all of the above: Elephant Walk, in its widescreen aspect ratio (1.85?) and Ash Wednesday- one of my guilty pleasures- in HD!
And who wouldn’t welcome Jessica Fletcher to blu ray with open arms???
Excited by the possibility of another Paramount deal! I'd love to see some of my holy grails from the '50s (September Affair, Let's Dance, The Mating Season, Wild is the Wind) and the '60s (The Pleasure of His Company, My Six Loves, This Property is Condemned, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You...
Missing the following (at least from Universal):
Back Street (1932)- Rumored to be with Criterion
Invitation to Happiness (1939)- Great time with Fred MacMurray & Charlie Ruggles
Unfinished Business (1941)- a little gem with Robert Montgomery, Preston Foster, & Eugene Pallette
It Grows on Trees...
I received my copy of When Tomorrow Comes on Friday. I had an opportunity to watch this evening, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how beautiful the film would look and how wonderful it would sound. As a diehard Irene Dunne fan, I never imagined this little gem would receive...
Great list! Only wanted to mention that Kino told us a while back that another company licensed Back Street (‘32). Here’s hoping more of your list makes its way to Blu ray… and in some instances, its home video debut!
Any word on When Tomorrow Comes hitting Blu-ray this year? It’s a little gem that I can’t wait to have in my collection… and then finally delete it from my DVR 😊
Will Kino be entering another deal with Universal? I know they are still releasing Universal titles- just wondering if another deal is in the works. Thank you!
Question:
I believe the KL insider mentioned KL's most recent deal with Universal included 11 titles from the 60s. Am I correct that KL has released and/or announced 8 of the 11, leaving 3 more announcements to go?
Thank you in advance!
Titles- released and/or announced:
The Brass Bottle...
Please tell me there's an Irene Dunne title or two in the new batch of titles. Not asking for confirmation on particular titles, but hopeful at least one or some of the following titles receive an HD release (and in some cases, a home video debut): High, Wide, and Handsome, Invitation to...
