I can't help comparing that 'Rory doesn't have what it takes' development with all the 'xx doesn't have what it takes' over the years on ER and other medical dramas. Commited characters like Carter, Lockhart and Neela, and the next gen over on Grey's Anatomy and House face blunt situations where...
Something that bothered me that I just remembered. Why did Lor go on and on to the doctor at the hospital about how small a town she lived in? Did they trek Sookie into NYC or something for the birth? Wouldn't they have a Star's Hollow hospital, and wouldn't that be where they went?

He said he wanted everyone's input. It's a crappy fact, but a fact of life nonetheless, to 'have what it takes,' she needed the sense to chime in in that situation, if nothing else when the issue of recruiting beat reporters from Yale came up. PapaHuntz is a pioneer. He thinks the job needs a...
Except he was entirely right. And if you look back at the meeting, he was giving her every opportunity to chime in, going so far as to pause on the "get beat writers from the local universities. . . Yale. . . to review concerts." Clearly he was seeing if she'd take initiative, and she hung back...
Interesting that she's siding with her man when it's her man-vs-mom. But she sided with dad when it was her man-vs-dad. Is it because this time it's mom, or because this time it's Luke?
It's a network drama series. Misunderstandings have to be manufactured to create a story arc. Very disappointed in this cliched development in a great series.
