I ordered the Cameron trilogy last month from The Evil A. Aliens has a delivery around next weekend, but nothing on The Abyss and True Lies so far. Normally pre-orders go just fine, like with Quigley. These three are a very unusual situation.

I’ve had her Live in Paris video and CD for years. No idea whyI didn’t get this one sooner.

Just for grins, because I threatened to do it. It’s unusual for me to buy this many discs, but it is that time of year after all. This is the last couple of weeks. I’m pretty happy with the wide variety.

I might have to post a photo of the movies I’ve splurged on in the past couple of weeks.

It's extremely rare that anything I buy doesn't download to the computer, which I archive.

Still, installing software from discs is rather quaint. I don't recall the last time I did that.

Actually, the desire to upgrade the equipment has never been driven by software. It's always been because the hardware just got too slow or it had outdated components. I replaced all the Minis in 2020, and most of the ones being replaced were 2008/9 models. In the interim I had replaced the...

I own a computer based business, and computers are simply a tool for me. A means to an end. We are completely Mac based because when models get old (which is far less often in the Mac world) I just get some new (extremely affordable) Mac Minis and continue with my life. Up to now, I always...

I have an SR7012 in the living room, and I completely expect to have it for another 10 years, at least.

Hang it or on a shelf? I don't think there's a simple answer to that. I think it should just be where it's prominent and looks nice.

That is very cool. I would NOT paint in the letters. I'd leave it as it is.

Evil is a very interesting show. I also caught up on the last few seasons of Blue Bloods. Watched A Quiet Place 2.

I think size has a lot more to do with it. The SB-16 is about a 20" cube, so a lot smaller than the PB-16.

Well. They're here. Holy crap! I hope you have about three people to help you, because the PB is 50lbs heavier than the SB.

Auro was included with the following model preamp, as I recall. It's $200 on mine. At this point in time, it just doesn't seem like productive use of the money for me to pay for it.

Doubtful. I have a Marantz AV7703 that isn't exactly old or out of date. Plus the pandemic seems to have had a serious impact on new gear availability. New tech seems to be a little unstable at the moment, so it just doesn't seem like a good time. I will most likely be exploring optimizing...
