I don't think I can answer my own question. I can't even come up with a top 5. 2001 in particular was such a great year. Probably one of the best ever.
It boggles my mind that Vickie finds it so offensive to see some people criticize a movie, but it is apparently OK for her to say something like that. If you are so sensitive to some silly comments made by a couple of us, maybe you should just put us on your ignore list.
OK, hopefully Jim won't mind, but how if everyone posts what their personal choice of the best movie since 2000 is. I've been thinking about it and haven't made a decision yet.
Geez! I guess it's open season on me in this thread. Funny Justin is trashing me because MD won and Vickie is trashing me because FOTR didn't. what can I say? I piss off without prejudice. I'm not sure what I said about MD that has Justin so steamed. I like it. I never said FOTR was bad or...
Justin, sit down and take a deep breath. This may be difficult for you to take, but awareness almost always leads to temporary pain and a moment of fear. In the end, it is for the best.
Ready?
You like horror movies.
You really like horror movies.
Accept it.
Live with it.
Embrace it...
Ah, yes. When it comes to Justin, the world is one big grey area. :D
If you think about it, you know what's going to win, and it ain't Mulholland Drive.
The 6-minute short finally meets its match.
It still did it's fair share of damage. At least enough people eventually saw it.
Memento - which, despite popular opinion, is not just a gimmick. Requiem is excellent, though.
Finally, I've seen all 4 and I'm not wild about any of them.
Good to see some more have seen The Heart of the World, bad to see the damage is already done.
The Royal Tenenbaums
Traffic
Well, I kicked his butt, so I'm not complaining. I would say something about the Super Bowl, but I can't stand the idea of expressing support for the team I bet would win.
Well, Bill, I tricked you into flying off at me a little while ago. I guess you got me back. :p)
"I have to take a page from Steeve's book and say that most people who have seen The Heart of the World are unlikely to vote for Donnie Darko, probably for some peripheral reason."
"I have to take...
So, because of one thing I said that you disagree with, everything I say that has anything to do with cinema is worthless?
How pedestrian.
That says very little about me, but volumes about you, Bill. :frowning:
Virgin Suicides - I really should give MR another shot.
Abstain on the rest...
Take a Chill Pill, Vickie. :p) The problem isn't that La Mancha isn't in, it's that Heart of the World is. These tourneys have always been for feature films. This one was an automatic, wasn't it? Unfortunately, that is what has caused this problem. It just didn't occur to me until it was...
Well, I wasn't sure. Fox didn't exactly do a bang-up job on the video release either. Memento didn't really get any theater attention either, did it? I bet DD didn't play in more than a couple dozen markets. As for Fox, the transfer isn't awful, but it sure leaves a lot to be desired. The...
You're right, DD really tanked at the theaters. I think we can largely thank Fox for that one. Thankfully, there is home video, or it would have been forgotten. I say this without hesitation, aside from my occasional inclination toward the Coen Brothers and Reese Witherspoon, I'm not the fanboy...
I have to say, I think DD is extremely good, if not great. Currently, it is suffering a backlash from all it's early enthusiasm. I keep thinking my enjoyment of it will wane, but I just watched it again the other day for the first time in months and it is still outstanding. It is a victim from a...
funny how people have such radically different opinions of Session 9. OK, I know Justin is "The nutcake......" but I'm not a horror freak and I thought it was one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. I think the way I usually watch movies makes a big difference on that one. alone...
