The UK R2 release you describe comes from DD Home Entertainment - reviewed here - not the BBC, and 'totally restored'? It's pretty decent, but not pristine.
No, it's definitely an R1 release; the UK R2 BTW also boasts a 'remastered' transfer and that too isn't pretty. Fingers crossed, but the extras look decent don't they?
