Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - :star::star::star:1/2 First time seeing this one. Fantastic. I was wondering while I was watching if Peter Sellers was Dr. Strangelove or Mandrake, and it turns out he was both and Merkin Muffley. George C. Scott was great...

I went to a free screening last night at 7:30PM. Much smaller crowd than if I would have paid to go anytime in the next week, so it was a no lose situation. Mike, Grindhouse is gone from Tampa already. Sadly I missed it. Now THAT'S a movie that should be seen on the big screen :frowning:.

Spider-Man 3 (2007, Director Sam Raimi, Theater) - :star::star::star:1/2 Well, even looking back just a few hours later, I feel I might have overrated this one. The good: the action is tremendous, the villains are great, Peter/MJ is well done for the first time on film, Sandman is...

I've been so busy moving these last few weeks, I haven't had a chance to watch much of anything. I did fit in my first viewing of the Fellowship Extended Edition yesterday, easily :star::star::star::star:. I have a few recorded from this week (The Sentinel and Apocalypse Now: Redux in HD), and I...

As I said at the very end of the last page, it is the 1925 version. Just wanted to post it here so Joe could see it.

02/14/07 Sexy Beast (2001) - :star::star::star: Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley deliver knockout performances in this one. A retired mobster (Winstone) is living out his days in Spain. An old associate (Kingsley) is sent to bring him back for one more job. Violent, intense, trippy. Well worth...

Hostage (2005) :star::star:3/4 Cliched movie starring Bruce Willis as an ex hostage negotiator who is forced back into the heart of the action against his will. Nothing we haven't seen 100 times before from these types of movies, but some good action keeps it moving along well enough.

The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) :star::star::star: Mixed feelings on this one. Everything was great up until the ending, which kind of left me cold. There were a few sequences at the end that had quite a build up, and were just thrown to the side at the end. The story was fantastic though...

01/09/07 Sahara (2005) - :star::star:1/2 Fun little movie with Matthew M. and Steve Zahn. Nothing spectacular as far as the acting or directing goes, but it was worth the time it took to watch it. Sky High (2005) - :star::star::star: This was just great. Light hearted and very fun. The...
