The PS3 will remember the last place your where on SD-DVDs and some Blu-rays. The Blu-rays it won't remember are the BD-Java titles. It should remember any non BD-Java titles. From what I know there is no way of disabling or enabling this feature.

If you get a blank screen instead of what you see in the image provided you have a problem. Those things in the pic, I call them icons. Sort of like Desktop icons.

Even though I installed the 2.4 perfectly on my 40GB unit, I have read of people bricking the 40GB model. 60GB & 80GB units are affected also. It is hit or miss with the upgrade. I downloaded mine at 11:45pm EST on 7/1/08. The problems from what I hear is, and you would know it right away...
