Duneinfo.com has a tiny bit of news.

It was supposed to be in anamorphic widescreen. That should be interesting as the "Smithee" cut used different halves of a widescreen image as new scenes. A 4x3 image would hide the fact that they cheated.

Has anyone heard for sure if this is coming July 26th? It's only a month away and I haven't seen any kind of announcements. PlayUsa is the only place I've seen with that release date. Amazon doesn't have anything listed. I'm starting to think that date might not be right after all.

Amazon has the following info posted I've never heard of an alternate ending. This could be interesting. Of course it could just be the Thufir scenes that happen just before the final duel. Is this a 2-disc set now? I certainly would prefer that over a flipper.

I had also doubted Lynch would ever re-cut the movie, but the information was posted on The Digital Bits. I would count them as a reliable source.

I guess that's good and bad news. If that's correct we now have a release date, but there won't be any Lynch involvement.

Anyone looking for a David Lynch re-cut is probably going to be dissapointed. He's said time and time again he felt like he "sold out" making this movie. I guess we'll just have to wait and see as more info comes out.
