Now, that would be the best news all season. I was disappointed when they hired him. I don't hold out any hope that the Fords will learn how to build a winner. I can only wish that they'll accidentally hire someone who can. Maybe the current coaching staff could be salvaged for another year...

I have a sick feeling that the DET-ATL game could be a rout of epic proportions. If the Falcons hang 62 points on the Lions and have three 100 yard rushers, you read it here first.

I don't think the Lions will go 0-16, but I also couldn't pick them to beat any single team on their remaining schedule. If the coaching staff is worth their salt, maybe they'll play better ball as the season progresses.

Cripes, I wish Michael Irvin would STFU! Here's hoping the Lions avoid total embarrassment today. They exceeded my expectations last week, which only goes to show what the trauma of the past 38 years has wrought on me.

Trey, He's unofficially listed #3 on both NFL.com and the Lions' site. He had a good showing in the final preseason game, which was his only appearance where he got to work with some 1st and 2nd stringers. His other times out he basically pulled the ball down and ran for his life on pass plays...

Brandon, Yep, the TA-E is still going strong, along with dual TA-Ns. I was just now doing some tweaking to the surround level. It's rough that the Lions had to draw Seattle for the home opener. Oh well.

It's just appears that the Lions' Dline coach is getting his career advancement tips from Wayne Fontes and adding his own flourish. Very nu- er, shrewd.

I'll give Eliminator a shot, even though it means I'm obligated to pick my Lions at some point.

In the case of the Lions, which is a better indication of success-"starter" or "not on team"? There's still time to join the Home Theater Forum group of ESPN's Pigskin Pick 'em. No spread/no week dropped/no default picks. The password is OAR. The more the merrier. IIRC, I won this thing like...

I like the Eagles now, too. Home playoff games will be at a premium coming from that division, though. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

The Lions worked him out a year or two ago. No offer. They must've liked Jeff Garcia and Joey Harrington much better. I like the Bengals if Palmer stays healthy, but I won't give in to a preseason whim. I'm going to make my early Super Bowl prediction based on intuition as I always do. I'm...

My expectations for the Lions are between Scott's and Brandon's. I'm thinking 7 wins are possible, but it's not likely that they'll threaten the Bears this year. Anything better than 7-9 I figure is gravy, but much less and the increased discipline will not sell with the players. The latter...
