I think for me only CAREFREE and STORY VERNON AND IRENE CASTLE are truly lacking in the Astaire/Rogers series. SHALL WE DANCE is where the formula is beginning to wear thin, but with that Gershwin score, who cares. In both ROBERTA and FLYING DOWN TO RIO they are somewhat secondary, but both...
Got to see KMK in 3-D this weekend in a friend's lavishly appointed home theater. It was very impressive. I found the depth of the image more rounded and dimensional than most of the in depth films I have seen. Most 3-D I have seen the depth breaks down into levels, kinda like multiplane in...

I hope someone either has or will do an extensive interview with Bert May. What an impressive career... so many great movies. He must have some incredible stories to tell. C'mon TCM... this is the kinda thing you should be doing.
Yeah... that Gardner response was from a Rex Reed interview back in the sixties. In the same interview she was asked about Sinatra and Mia Farrow and she said something to the effect that she always knew Frank would end up with a boy. Ouch!
My only gripe casting wise is Grayson. She is completely out of her depth. But I think everyone else is wonderful. Wish they could have kept "Another Opening., Another Show." Loved the broadway revival about 20 or so years ago.
Still awaiting my set to arrive... the weather is slowing things down. The actor I think is great in KMK is Tommy Rall. Too bad he got so few chances on film.
While I am glad we have Mr. Harris's positive review, I am kinda surprised there are no other reviews out there online. If anyone does see some, please post links here. Thanks!
