By the way... The center channel problem I reported a while back was traced to my speaker. I didn't mean to blame the Anthem; I simply hoped a software problem (easily fixed) was the culprit. Thanks to Randy who spoke with me about it offline. The tweeter is definitely the problem. The...
It happened again, again while playing a DVD, but it was after about 45 mins of watching, so there seems to be no distinct "trigger" as I had hoped. When I'm ambitious, I'll definitely move the center to a different amp channel. I'm fairly convinced the problem is at the pre/pro level...
Unfortunately, now I can't duplicate the problem. It comes and goes.
It all started when reading your comments to Miguel (yep, your fault :)) Overall I haven't had great luck with centers either. Even way back, when using a Pioneer receiver, center was my trouble. Back then, my center channel...
I will play with this some more this evening. I do hope it's not an amp channel or something horrible like that. But it is strange. I was using coax digital in from the DVD player during the test this morning. I can verify that the 0db volume position is irrelevant.
Setting the main volume to 0 is an old habit. I believe you that it had no effect. Ignore that part. I used 85 db instead of 75, but this should (it seems) also have no effect on the problem I'm experiencing. I see now that the manual recommends 75 (which is easier on the ears anyway). I...
Miguel - Not to discount Chas and Michael's advice, but you might very well have a real problem with your center channel (I do). My center is consistantly dropping down to 5 db too low after calibration. I sure hope this is just another software bug, but I am definitely having center...
Wow. I go away for a week and the subject changes so often! In several places along the way in reading this thread I've thought to myself "I could've posted something here and there." :)
Who am I? Oh, long time lurker, seldom a poster (unless you count the music forum (can't keep my mouth shut...
Sorry if this is too much of a topic shift, but what's this DTS 96/24 I've started hearing about? Does the Anthem support this, or have we just started a new wish list for a future upgrade?
These "kinks" almost make me glad it's taking my dealer SO FRICKIN' LONG to get my new part.
I have faith it will all work out, but I'm hesitant to mess up my "perfect" pre/pro. I might just wait for version 2.10c :)
