alex, this show is NOT about football, it is about what it is like to live in a smalltown, USA but the themes about life, relationships and most of all family resonate with people from all over the world. you DO NOT have to like football to enjoy this. i don't watch football myself (unless...
people HTF constitutes a VERY small percentage of actual buyers of DVD. most people do try things they might not otherwise try. if not, now they will eventually get around to it. it's the perfect opportunity to try. i doubt they will hold out forever. i'm sure there are people, for example...
chris, actually that's not true. one of the reasons why TV on DVD is extremely popular IS for people who missed TV series to catchup on it. i never saw B5, but i checked it out on DVD cause i heard so much about the series. i never looked back. it happened to me on: 24 Buffy Smallville...
greg, i agree =). i think SD-DVD comes out in september or somn. @first, i was skeptical, HS football about smalltown? after finishing the pilot, i never looked back  if they FINISH OFF the series now, it'll be awesome and stand on its own as great TV... but season2, i dunno what they...
greg, i did an analysis of that theme weaving (very subtle&sneaky on the writer's part) a few posts ago. nearly every ep has that high quality feel to it. peter berg=rocks. i didn't see this level of detail in the film version. do you guys think this will end much like the film's ending? =)...
i can't believe there's 1 more left for this season1. what an unbelievable ride. i knew it was good from pilot, but i was suspicious whether they could have sustained that INTENSITY for an entire season and they have! this is utterly incredible! i mean BSG had a hard time sustaining 20 eps but...
missed the first 10 min. what happened in the first ten min.? anyway, it was awesome, again. i think this tackles issues that are much larger than football in MANY, MANY ways =). typically i hate a/b storyline setups, but this week's a/b storyline was solid. i just love this show! ya think...
it's ridiculous to move it anywhere else since the texture of the series is TX. take that away and you lose a big part of the show. meanwhile. i just caughtup to latest ep. man the tatoo chic is hot. tara is hot, all the chix on the show are totally hot =). peter berg has taste :D.
yet what's really interesting about tonight's ep is that all of the storylines converge and make a point. with coach's family you see how the parent-child relationship should be but tim's family is broken and you see how the parent-child shouldn't be. the problems that coach deals with are...
tonight's ep was SOooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD!!!!! gonna get REALLY mad if this shows doesn't earn ANY sort of recognition during award season or somn. THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME SHOW! i luv it!
name your teen angst dramas done as well as this one? there's only a few handful like my so called life, etc. FNL is very well done. it isn't the story that is original, it is how it is DONE that makes it original. sure you can say there's only 7 basic stories and everything's done to death...
why is it that such a good show isn't discovered until it comes out on DVD? i'm sure it'll find its audience when that happens. is it because people think this is a "football" tv series and they immediately tune out? i think this show has such a mass/broad appeal to EVERYONE that they should...
i didn't think the relationship between the minister's daughter+smash was believable. it just further the stereotype of smart girls liking bad boys. ah well, perhaps there's a kernel of truth in there somewhere =P. plus they established the fact they knew ea. other since they were little. i...
lol, i feel like the coach ignoring lance,. is it me or does everyone else also think that the actor is somehow related to matt damon? he's even got the mannerisms of matt :) edit: mrs. coach calls him landry as well. check your DVR.
i briefly skimmed the plots (time is scarce), and riggins+lance pairing is sooooooooooooooooooooo funny, especially at the end when rig has to sit in for ANOTHER round of 'rock'. lol.
i'm catching up and watching ep9 right now (full hearts). the moment after coach grills sareson, he wipes sweat from his brow and it wasn't from practice. i luv little moments like that =^). still watching now and i luv how coach's daughter discovers the REAL matt s. =). i liked...
