i also seen all of the 1936-1940 DVD sets of flash gordon (3 of those) and 1 buck rogers set. @least those people knew it was time to ham it up. but acting in 1-6 didn't even have any fun at all. no hamming it up.

i wish we had a huge SW+HT fan local. i've got only SW-fans. not SW+HT fans =(. u guys are lucky

TPM definitely requires remastering. the copy they use for HBO/Cinemax is really terrible. 2much edge enhancements for live action elements.

well, it doesn't stop us from being fans... but casual SW fans will be turned off like those casual bond/trek fans. these similar sentiments were echoed by trek fans during the height of trek's success in the early 90's. u had trek6, TNG, DS9 out and VOY coming, ST generations movie, etc. yet...

just doin' me part to revive this thread :D personally i think SW will suffer franchise fatigue similar to bond towards the late 80s, trek now. there was 2much new trek and bond @one point. i think there'll be "2much" SW from clone wars onwards.

lol, what was it that lucas said about another movie on the big screen? :laugh: i know i know live action vs. animated... but still. u have to admit, he's totally untrustworthy. first he said 9 episodes, then 6, then never again, and here we are.

i think with so much new content being bombarded, it's difficult to sit down and rewatch anything old.

i think lucas views these films as pulpy serials like buck rogers from space in the 1939 serial (which i've seen). i think he purposely tells the "method actors" to tone it down to pulp @these times. it's not supposed to be that serious... unfortunately, he doesn't take it all the way INTO the...

you don't have to use it, it's just another tool to help you =P. every parent has different thresholds on what is appropriate for their kid. the parents themselves ultimately makes the choice. just giving you parents extra tools =P.

or TotalHD thingy that has several layers combined of both HD DVD+Blu-Ray. direct DL will be idiotic unless they offer us Blu-Ray ISO's for us to burn.

that's why i framed the question like that. i knew only single guys could buy stuff like that. the wife will force those replicas into the basement or storage elsewhere or worse... selling it.:laugh:. maybe you can take it out of storage to showoff for a party... but even if she's a huge SW nut...

that's pretty interesting article about kidz not liking SW as much. i think it's not JUST SW, it's the kidz attitudes towards film. prior to VHS, DVD and whatever we have today, "cinema", "film" commanded respect. nowadays, it's JUST another distraction. does this mean that classics will slowly...
