Aside from keeping up on my selection email every month and declining, I don't have to do a thing for the club. And even if I forget to decline a title (which I have), the second the charge hits my account, I know about it and hop online with the cast member to get it cancelled. Never had to...
Just from my experience, the tracking numbers show up very very early and are almost impossible for me to track (DMC or pretty much anyone using the USPS). My guess is some kind of COVID hold up and then it's going to magically appear on tracking.
Other people may have more insight/experience...
I've never had a shipping issue with them. I placed my last order on March 27 and my box showed up on April 1. They've always shown up within a week of the order date for me in Seattle (preorders not withstanding).
I did the chat feature last week to get a tracking number for an order. I was connected instantly, got the tracking number and was done in less than five minutes.
I think the movies I ordered at the end of last week (and arrived yesterday) is the quickest turnaround I've ever seen from the DMC. I was truly shocked when they showed up.
My point is we don't know any of the reasons why they don't ship internationally. I'm not willing to say it's because anyone is stupid or ignorant. I will 100% contend we (you and I) have the 5 foot view of this, not the 30k foot view.
And that is where I exit this particular conversation.
I don't disagree that any company can make a decision which loses money. I do disagree that I'm making an assumption. This decision makes sense to someone or did make sense to someone at some point. Just because it doesn't make sense to us is immaterial.
Oh, I know exactly what you said. From the 5 foot view, sure, it makes sense the same products are available throughout the world. But that doesn't happen with any product for any number of reasons. It wasn't right when alcohol was procured illegally in Prohibition. It's not right when songs or...
So because something isn't available locally and/or it's expensive is a good reason to pirate items? I just want to make sure I understand the argument you're trying to make in the last two lines.
Heads up...there is a second Featured Title Selection in November. The Lion King (accept or decline) and the Santa Clause 3 pack (accept or decline). Response needed by November 18 for the latter.
Same, I just checked. $34.95 regular price, $13.98.
Going back to Dr. Syn...I'm one of the lucky ones who got the Treasures set years ago. I've watched it once, enjoyed what I saw but it never stuck with me. It's likely a function of when I was watching and not the content.
Anyway, entirely...
That's wild. I'd draw the same conclusion about a new version coming with the Overture where it needs to be. I hope it is...I want to put this disc on my shelf!
Going back to The Black Hole for a moment:
The Disney Movie Club Facebook page (in comments) is including this message to anyone asking about the overture:
"If you are experiencing problems with the overture, please contact our friends at Disney Consumer Relations at 800-723-4763 for further...
I don't see the DMC will have a presence at the Expo itself based on the map of the show floor. The only DMC event I know about is the one at DCA and those tickets went FAST last week. If I find someone from DMC, I'll see what I can pry out of them.
I'm not sure where to post this, so here goes.
Got an e-mail from DMC about a special Member Celebration on the 24th at California Adventure. No real details I can find yet, but the email does mention "exciting announcements" and "delicious appetizers and drinks." I'm gonna RSVP, but I'm not...
I need to wait until I get back from D23 to order. I don't want the package sitting outside for any part of the week I'll be gone and I don't have anyone reliable enough to check to see if it arrives during that week.
So excited now!
I don't have the words right now...none are appropriate.
But Sweet Holy Grail of Movies! Black Hole IS FINALLY coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has literally made my day.
I'm a Dis Nerd and know what I'd be very interested in if they ever decided to release it? A disc of all the official parades and/or nighttime spectaculars that aren't around anymore. Separate it by decade or park or whatever else...but I have to believe the assets are in a vault somewhere and a...
Not the top of my list, but I'm very happy they're coming. Slowly but surely-and I know way too slowly for some of us-titles are being checked off the unreleased list.
