The new Blu-ray appears to have identical supplements to the most recent Signature Collection release which has been on the market since 2016.
While unfortunate, that's not really a surprise. Disney has never cared about maintaining all previously available bonus material. I have retained the...
My local Best Buy had three copies of the keepcase version and three copies of the steelbook. I got the former. The website indicates that there are two regular and three steelbooks remaining at that store. So it seems I was the only one to pick it up there today.
Thank you for that, Lionel! I haven't seen any reviews yet for this title so yours is the first information I've seen regarding the Blu-ray copy also being the restored version. I have ordered my copy now.
Amazon has been in a feud with Disney on pre-order items for years. There's a whole thread about it somewhere if you want to dig it up.
I do not recommend pre-ordering Disney titles from Amazon and have not done so since 2016.
Just get it from another retailer.
That implies Disney makes these kind of decisions logically or consistently among these releases, and I'm not sure they do. I hope you're right. But I want to find out from reviews, etc. before locking in an order.
Oh, we know there is going to be a Blu-ray with it. That was never in question. Disney regularly does that on their animated films. The cover also indicates this will be the case. What I'm saying is, the only reason for me to buy this without needing the 4K disc is if the Blu-ray transfer is...

Being serious here, I don't really think this cover is intended to stand up to the scrutiny that our questions suggest that it should.
It's still better than the Diamond Edition...
I suppose they didn't want to pick just one dwarf.
As with all of the Disney 100 steelbooks, I really like the interior artwork of the dwarfs and think that would have been a much more interesting cover image.
I think you are correct in this assumption. The Cinderella 4K steelbook was also of the minimalist Disney 100 variety. That does seem to be the only kind Disney is currently interested in producing for catalog releases this year.
Also...why is the icon on the back a bird? Wouldn't it make...
Putting things from the movie inside the title character's dress appears to be a new pattern for these releases.
I don't have a 4K player. But if the included Blu-ray is a new transfer, a was the case with Cinderella, this will be an immediate purchase for me.
Odd. The cover art indicates...
