Oh come on now, that's going too far. I haven't seen anything in season one of Angel that leads me to the conclusion that it's villains are any more or less intelligent than on Buffy, these two shows come from the same mind and are in the same universe and from what i've seen their respective...
Where the Wild Things Are This is a strange episode because although I like the mayhem that ensues, it's the cause of the mayhem that's a bit of a stretch. I know that Buffy and Riley are into each other, but to think that they were having sex for HOURS and hours is difficult to buy IMO...
Welcome to the universe of Joss Whedon, Jonathan, kick off your shoes and stay a spell. ;) :emoji_thumbsup: Some of the highlights for me on what i've missed, losing Doyle really upset me, I didn't realize that he left the show so early :frowning:, but at the same time I was very happy to...
Thank God i'm not one of those, I try never to pidgeonhole an actor or actress into one role, Sarah did her gig as Buffy and now that's over, I don't ever care to see a Buffy movie because i'm very satisfied with how it ended. The same goes for David, he did Angel, it was a great role and now...
There's another thing to consider with your theory, it would only wrap up Buffy and Angel's storylines, but what about Willow, Xander, Giles, Dawn, Doyle and Codelia?
Wow, congrats, it's always nice to get new people of ALL ages onboard! ;) :emoji_thumbsup: Keep us posted on what they think as you go along. :) Something Blue I love this episode, the whole situation with Spike and Buffy is both nausiating and hilarious all at once lol. My favorite scene...
It didn't strike me as a gimmick episode, IMO Joss took this opprotunity to give us Angel and Buffy fans what we've wanted to see for a long time...Buffy and Angel together and truly happy, albeit for a very brief period of time. This episode was just pure emotion, Angel's happiness at the...
Nicholas, it doesn't matter WHY I think that it's my favorite ep so far of season one, it just is. I really didn't mean to somehow insult Angel (that's what I took from your post anyway) by saying what I said, I just ALWAYS thought that both Buffy and Angel were at their strongest...
Pangs It's Thanksgiving in Sunnydale, you know, turkey, stuffing, mash potatos, killing a supernatural tribe of angry naitive americans...the usual. I love Buffy dealing with her frustrations by cooking, I mean afterall she may be the slayer but SOMEBODY has to get dinner on the table in...
Get outta town! I require more proof of your love for Angel. ;) While i'm really loving Angel, thus far i've seen nothing significant that separates it from Buffy in my eyes and I doubt that will change, even with the things and events to come. I commented to Wendy that watching both shows...
We'll see, but I can guarentee you right now that I will never be ready to say that Angel is better than Buffy, equal to yes, but I will never say better because I know myself and I hold Buffy in very high regard. But so far Angel is living up to it's reputation quite well and from what i've...
The Bachelor Party A great character deepening episode that reveals Doyal's past and sparks some recognition of feelings between him and Cordelia. I thought that the family of demons was hilarious, I did a slight double-take when they were all having a very ordinary dinner of KFC, talking...
Wendy and I were just talking about Angel and she brought up a really good point about why he is so different on Angel. She said that when he was in Sunnydale, he was constantly worried about Buffy and that he was never himself because all he thought about was protecting her. That makes...
Looking foreward to it. I'm also looking foreward to the ep where he get's turned into a Sesme Street muppet lol. I saw that on a rerun and laughed the entire time.
Actually, it isn't jarring at all, I just figured that since Buffy concentrated on her most of the time, we never really saw Angel do all that much, sure he helped out here and there but we never really saw him do his own thing for extended periods of time. So, I just figured that this is how...
Everyone get's in touch with their feelings in Sense & Sensitivity, a funny episode that proves, if anything else, that Angel looks much cooler when he's fighting in his black trenchcoat than a Hawaiian shirt and sun hat lol. At first I didn't understand what was happening, I thought that...
RM W/A VU One of the rare Angel eps that I did manage to watch when it originally aired, this one was a lot of fun...anytime Cordelia is all flustered and upset for extended periods of time = fun for me to watch lol. Pretty grim reveal for what really went down in that apartment, too...
And in the category of 'so relentlessly bad that it transcends bad and ventures into remarkably dumb fun', we have... Beer Bad I don't know what the writers were on when they wrote this one, but the ep seems to come from another planet in the Buffy universe lol. So strange, so aweful and...
I'm sorry, Nicholas, I can't agree. The only reason to smash it would be to continue keeping things as they are...smashing the ring was a conveniant plot device IMO. His whole thing about "saving people in the dark and not forgetting them" was bogus IMO, I just didn't buy that. Now, let me...
Harsh Light of Day This was a fun episode and a nice way to bring ol' trouble making Spike back into the mix. We also are reaquainted with Harmony, although she isn't quite as we remember her. Well, she is...just with fangs. ;) One of my favorite moments from that ep is the fight between...
I'm sure the characters will change, Wendy has already prepared me for that and I even know what happens to a couple of them, but IMO the characters on Buffy did change in the end. Buffy will always be high on my list of most beloved tv shows of all time and so far Angel is on it's way right...
Oh no doubt, it goes without saying that the show will get much better than the early eps, the same can be said for any good series. Buffy certaintly went far beyond it's early eps, I fully expect Angel to do the same.
Lonely Hearts Fun episode, sort of reminded me of The Hidden. The thing that i'm really liking about this show is the level of humour, it's got the same amount of playful humour that Buffy had but it's refreshing seeing it come from Angel. Yes, our dark and toothy hero is fitting in nicely...
I finally watched the pilot City Of and I must say it was excellent! :emoji_thumbsup: It did exactly what a pilot needs to do, it established the premise and provided a pretty meaty story right out of the gate. I suppose the fact that we already knew who Angel was and why he was in LA to...
Let's just hope that our beloved Veronica Mars survives! :frowning: I hear that this new network will be a real ballbuster in terms of tolerating low ratings.
