hi Martino....2 of these would hold a CC nicely, but will be too tall in Ron's case. Ron's solution isnt bad. I use a couple wooden stepstools from Walmart, that I cut to height. Rual, in Ron's situation, adding padding below the speaker would do absolutely nothing acoustically. Ron, ideally...

Ron's problem is not with width but rather with height. His basement only gives him about 76" of height, and he also needs to get the center channel off the ground. Fun stuff.

Ron, great thoughts! Seating placement should actually be decided on based on the acoustical properties of the room and where the bass nulls are, then we select the screen size to give you a 45 (client variable) degree viewing angle from your seat.

hi guys....not sure what I am being quoted on or not being quoted on. I have said nothing about room acoustics. I have noticed that the room is relatively small with a short ceiling. If Ron wants to have any bit of good contrast ratio he NEEDS (meaning required) to have black ceiling tiles and...

Epson for 1.78 JVC for 2.35 (JVC adds motorized zooming). Depends on your priorities...general TV watching vs movie viewing. Basically, then screen width (at 2.35) should be the same distance as the viewing distance. All my prior comments still apply.

I'm arguing for JVC vs Epson because of the ability to do a motorized zoom and shift to 2.35. If you have not seen this before....you need to (before you try to offer an opinion).....it is like OMG, with 2.35 being 30% ish larger than 16x9 (at the same image height). The screen I am...

If I were spending $4000-5000 on a screen and PJ.... JVC, with motorized zooming, and 2.35 Carada or perhaps Dalite. (and then put up with jail bars for 16x9...or make velcro mattes to cover the 16x9 bars).

a good screen should not have wrinkles....period. The exception might be for the initial install (if the packing was not great). A good tip for removing wrinkles is hitting the spots with a hair dryer after there is tension applied.

most people, if they get a 2.35 screen and then have some kind of masking for 16x9 have more than enough variety in aspect ratios. Megan, your picture is showing serious wrinkles in the screen....you expect us to take your recommendation seriously? My recommendation for a screen....dont buy...

First thing to do (besides cleaning! ) is replacing the ceiling tiles with black tiles....it will dramatically affect your contrast ratio.

hi Ron!! Its about time. Your going to have lots of suggestions. Figure $800 for a good fixed mount screen....more if you want some kind of adjustable aspect ratio. Id also strongly consider a 2.35 screen for you. I good screen can run 3K-8K. Elite is just junk. Your throw distance wont...
