Its a relevant question and i didn't see weather problems with the original scenes before they changed them, they work out the production schedule in advance of filming.
I see a big difference between changing a films content and changing a film's look, why did Tom Savini not film day for night twenty years ago, no one is asking that question.
I agree, another reason to buy from Twilight Time in the future, i will add that i do wish directors and studio's would stop altering the original look of a film, it might not happen much but, when it does it can be frustrating, i don't just mean video, the audio 5.1 re-mixes where the original...
Then people must be watching on uncalibrated displays that are adding a blue tint to their image, not uncommon and it happens, i think that does settle it.
I guess it was an internet rumour. I actually made the argument that the digital tweaks were most likely approved by the filmmakers over at HDTVtest as you can see should you go over there, what is clear is this is revisionism, if they wanted the scene a certain way back in the 90's it should...
I was told second hand info that Tom Savini has been in touch with someone over at Twilight Time and was surprised and annoyed, this was after i posted that the director likely signed off on these changes. The link here to the thread where we are discussing it...
There is a reflection of the sun on the house, its obvious this film was never shot day for night, someone messed up, either its revisionism by the makers of the film or an error.
Looking at post 3270 it seems the youtube video is accurate then, if the screencaps are accurate, that last part is my disclaimer until Twilight Time comment, apparently Tom Savini was shown the video and is not a happy man.
I hope TT continue to push for quality and decline any they think are not good enough, i like that approach, they obviously know their reputation is enhanced by good quality product, hearing this news certainly makes me trust them more with my money and could see me doing some blind buys with...
I get you now, well for me i am interested in Enemy Mine but i don't want to spend money this month and i wanted to hold off a while, it's a risk though as it may sell out.
Nothing wrong with voicing your disapproval of limited editions and i'd hardly call it a worst instinct, that's the response from me, i mean let's look at like this, if i don't buy immediately i then risk not being able to buy the film for how many years, two years, three years, five years, it...
Only it's a helluva lot easier if you live in the USA.
You say it's a high quality version of the film, i'd need more information than has currently been released to determine this, are we talking a new film scan at 4K or an old 2K film scan from 10 years ago, what is the situation, if it...
So it's possible Enemy Mine could come out in Germany, or elsewhere, although it's unknown, what to do, do i buy or do i wait, i don't know, where's that coin.
Do Twilight Time have the worldwide exclusive for a film like Enemy Mine or is it just a USA deal, the reason i ask is because the price is so high to import these days especially now that our goddamn awful government has lowered import tax, the postal office could sting me for a lot of money...
It was indeed, although i saw it last year and didn't watch it yesterday, i noted it was on though and got to thinking that i would love a Blu ray release of this film, i refuse to give Sky my money and only have Freesat ( No Virgin in this area ) and the Film4 channel is just standard...
Will this be the 136 minute version of Major Dundee. ?
What's the story behind the unreleased 152 minute directors cut, was the footage lost or destroyed back in the sixties. ?
I liked Enemy Mine when i saw it back in the early nineties, long time ago, that's one i think i will buy.
As for not seeing the difference between Blu ray and DVD, much depends on screen size vs seating distance, if your screen is 42 inch you need to sit no more than five feet away to...
