Yeah, it was more of a broad statement regarding countless "director-approved" discs that people have problems with.

And if people didn't speak up about things that look clearly wrong, it's possible nothing would have been done to correct the issue. The "this is director approved and you should all shut up" crowd should take note.

What do you think of the MGM disc? I thought it looked just dandy and the color looked like pretty much every other version of the movie I ever saw. I was never going to buy the Criterion version anyway but it will be interesting to hear what others like yourself have to say after viewing it...
