didn't the creators originally say they envisioned this as a 3-4 season series? funny how things change when syndication money enters the equation from the way Ted was narrating, it sounded like the Mother was in the class when Ted started teaching. so i wonder how long it will be before...
really disliked this week's episode. i HATE when sitcoms use the cheap gimmick of creating a character trait out of thin air just to service a plot. i know sitcoms are contrived by definition but that shortcut is just so, so lame (anyways i'm talking about Lily's not-keeping-a-secret thing)...
that might be like telling his kids the story of "how the ewoks beat the empire" and starting with episode 1. like i said, if the writers DO tie in the entire series with the story of how Ted met his wife (who wouldn't be Robin), that's great. it just doesn't seem likely.
i was reading about this show in wikipedia and caught this passage on the synopsis about the latest episode, and read this:
i totally missed this - when did it happen during the episode?
i just rewatched the pilot today and was thinking of any scenarios where Robin could be the mom and still be aunt Robin. like: what if she and Ted did have kids, but for whatever reason, she had to leave/split, then this series would be the story of how dad tells the kids that aunt Robin is...
i thought Ted not knowing Stella was a bit contrived. remember when they first started dating, they held off sex and he said all they did was talk. but hey, anything to make an episode revolve around Star Wars :P
