Got to get this Noir XIX treasure chest, especially for Mitch Leisen's No Man of Her Own. Could get expensive as usually I buy these for the rest of what's left of Mitch's family. Dark City is also a must!
Will enjoy the super rare John Bunnys in this set, but hope that the legendary Bachelor Buttons and A Cure For Pokeritis appear in HD some day. Love the fabulous Flora Finch too!
These gorgeous 50's Paramount Vistavision classics REALLY do it for me! Can't wait for The Proud and the Profane! 2024 looks to be a great year so far for this film fan.
Can't wait for Bluebeard. I love Ulmer too and am trying to figure out whatever happened to his Journey Beneath the Desert with Haya Harareet as Anatea or "She" who could make me obey anything in that outfit. A long stretch from Esther in Ben-Hur, which we'll certainly be watching this month.
Thank you Kino for an upgraded Underworld, a truly fabulous "pre-noir noir" with a wonderful score as I recall. Just LOVE Clive Brook in it. Your wonderful silent classics are so appreciated.
Man-Eater sounds wonderful. Love the Sabu films and have never seen this one before. Also love the jungle/adventure genre, especially one from '48, so really looking forward to this.
GREAT news about The Carpetbaggers, one of my most wanted titles! The Imprint release went OOP before I could snag one so I'm really grateful to Kino for this. Fabulous score by Elmer Bernstein, too.
Just wondering if the newly announced Black Pirate/Robin Hood Doug Fairbanks Cohen BD release might be considered a Kino release as well as they do partner with Cohen. More below on this fabulous release.
Exciting news about The Day and the Hour! Just as exciting is the possibility (or probability) of more Gaumont titles coming to Kino, maybe even some "golden age" classics. Their Murnau Stiftung releases have been absolutely fabulous so I'm optimistic.
So excited about You Can Never Tell arriving in blu-ray! This movie turned me into a raving Lou Breslow fan, and with good reason. Probably the most fanciful and joyful doggone "noir" ever made. It is a joy to behold and even better in HD. If you haven't seen it you're missing something...
One reviewer wrote that there were so many opulent sets created for Marco Polo that a mere fraction were used later for Samson and the 7 Miracles. Can't wait for this release. Thank you, Kino, for offering it in HD.
Just popped in to see the GREAT news about The Crusades! Yes, I have the gorgeous French BD, but will certainly be picking this wonderful Kino release as well. Just when I was getting hungry for another beloved historical adventure disc to be announced this came along. I head over to the Kino...
Whew! Was just about to take the plunge and order the Imprint Secret of the Incas, too. Saved by the bell with this new Kino announcement. A great fan of Yma Sumac here and I often revisit her wonderful Mambo! album. Is there any truth to that old "Amy Camus from the Bronx" rumor?
This Raw Wind in Eden sounds like my kind of movie. If it's anywhere as wildly delicious and fun as Female on the Beach, plus the added joy of Rossana Podesta, I'm all in!
Wow, something fabulous in my favorite genre, the historical adventure, with Rory Calhoun and the gorgeous Yoko Tani. These widescreen epics in HD are a joy to behold. Can't wait for this one. Thank you Kino!
