No but there have been several IMAX documentaries released that you can run non-HDR. As well as a couple european releases that didn't include HDR at all. My point is if they wanted to release a UHD disc without HDR it can be done.

Your only challenge is starting in 2016... 3D started to be removed from all current TVs. I believe that 2017 we may see zero TVs with 3D support.

Well you didn't have any UHD players until really mid year this year so it is pretty on par. Also 4K TV sales only really took of this year. So I would say it is pretty Apples to Apples in my opinion.
