Probably, but not necessarily. One of my friends that I've debated with endlessly over MoS because he loves it, did not like this one very much. I on the other hand found it much more tolerable than MoS.
This tends to be how I go about it too. I will sometimes get a bit more granular to see what critics liked or disliked a movie because I know which ones I respect and which ones I tend to agree with, but I don't read reviews until after I've seen the film in theaters.

I tend to keep an open mind about casting news like this. I know a lot of people hold Daredevil against him and there is no doubt he had a rough acting stretch there for a while, but he seemed to right the ship with Hollywoodland and has been pretty solid since.
