Oh, as much as I'm an electronic repair dude, I won't even attempt to do anything for my car myself, especially when I have 7 year/ 160.000km comprehensive warranty. If that's the anti-fog solution, then I'll just have to live with it then. Thank you for the warning, though.
TY. So far, I love the Jetta very much. It's very quiet in there, even quieter than the Accord. Enough 'kick' but not excessive. Fun handling and very nice intrument cluster's light. A bit of problem already though, the plastic cover of the instrument cluster seems to have some kind of...
Well, the sound system ain't great, but not bad either. Relatively nice bass for such a small enclosure (door areas). The fact that they have separate tweeters positioned closer to the ears, making stereo separation even better. Sub... here I come!
Yep, I gotta listen to it first and see how it sounds on the highway while driving 80mph. If it's loud enough for me(I don't listen to music loudly anyways), then I won't add separate amps. Head unit will stay, though, at least until it's broken. Other head units protrude too much (not...
Thank you. I'll pick up the car on Thursday after work. I'll report back here on Friday with my first impressions. Anybody have any comment on the stock (not Monsoon) stereo system?
Shawn, good move, don't get the Mazda. My friend's 2000 Mazda Protege is starting to have the same problem I had with the intake gasket. He is going to replace the intake gasket next week. His mom's 2002 Mazda Protege also have its engine light on yesterday. ... oh, my uncle's Protege 1999...
Yep, tried both the Jetta wagon and sedan today. LOOOOOVE THEM!!! much more than the Accord. My wife doesn't like the look of the wagon, so we decided to take the sedan. So the one I'm taking is: 2003 Jetta 1.8T in Reflex Silver (whatever that is) with A/T Tiptronic. I love the...
Well, first of all, I still don't think $300 for rotors and SECOND sets of pads is considered 'okay' at 35,000 miles. Secondly, the head gasket was blown; another $600 for repair and 3-day car rental Thridly, broken tranny at 40,000 miles, under warranty, but I gotta pay about $400 for car...
Max Leung, The Jetta is CAD$1500 (plus taxes) cheaper than the Accord and Passats are CAD$2000 (plus taxes) more than the Accord. I've decided to stay away from the Accord for now. The salesperson is a major pain in the you know where; very childish.
Kevin Farley, My wife can't drive a stick, so I'm stuck with a a non-stick. Daryl Furkalo, I'm not getting the Monsoon system, just the stock (made by Clarion) and maybe getting the Panasonic CD changer for the back (Panasonic makes the CD changers for VW). BTW, I've found the...
Thanks for the inputs. I was about to take a test drive last night but the weather turned weird with all the ice pellets and such. So it's being postponed until Saturday. Meanwhile, what kind of CD changer does it use? According to the salesperson, it's a Panasonic with custom connector...
brentl, no more Mazda for me. After changing the brake rotor at 55,000 km (about 35,000 miles), blown intake gasket and broken transmission at 60,000km (about 40,000 miles); I've had enough with Mazda in general. So I'm selling my 61,000 km Mazda Protege a.s.a.p. Ryan Wright, TDI is...
I'm buying a car within 2 weeks. Should I go with Honda Accord LX-V6? or VW Jetta 1.8 Turbo? features approx. the same. Jetta reaches it's 180HP at 2000rpm whereas the Accord never actually reach its 240HP (who drive their car at 6500rpm at all time?), I figure the most I'll get from the...
