Sorry you’re not enjoying this season. FWIW, next week is season finale, and sometimes an uneven season can end strong. If you can make it through one more episode. :)
Resident Alien is such a dumb silly show where I get to see the entire cast pummel Alan Tudyk in what must have been an on-stage riotously funny event to stage and film and then it hits with the Mrs Mayor Snowflake hypnosis scene and I’m not crying you’re crying!
Harry in love with Heather is season-1-bonkers, delightfully cringey fun to watch. Asta and Darcy’s plan to break them up by “confiding” with Heather how bad a partner Harry would be backfired as we knew it would — though I expected that to play out over an episode or two and not be resolved in...
Started watching this week and are caught up on the three released. I'm struggling a bit with the two year gap since Season 2 and forgetting details about the grays / hybrids, what happened with the bounty hunter, and the alien-abducted baby of Ben and Kate.
I need to find some Season 2 episode...
Yes, very much so. This is the kind of thing that damages a marriage and/or destroys friendship. Resident Alien has generally been honest about how relationships work and explores them pretty well, so I’m curious how this dynamic is handled.
That said, the recent dynamic with Deputy Sad Face...
Nice!
There’s so much to watch with the pandemic production backlog clearing out and all hitting this Summer, that I totally forgot about Resident Alien. Will be happy to have it back.
I’m constantly surprised by how dark this show gets! Last week’s play was so brilliant! The song was incredible. And it’s something for a show like this to cook up almost as a throwaway musical. And then this week’s, the dog ruthlessly murderizing 42! It was horrific! Sahar’s look of perplexed...
It’s what great comedies do: they’re humane and bring realism and three dimensionality to the characters to be a foundation for the humor. Ted Lasso and The Good Place are other recent exemplars of this.
And this was a great episode. Last week’s I loved because Alex Borstein was so perfectly...
We had to go hunting for more Season 1 recap. I’d completely forgotten the details of how/why actual-Harry had killed the town doctor (poisoned, reason still unknown) and that the Mayor and Darcy had kissed (she kissed him).
I watch too much TV. I forget the various stories a year later. :)
I still love watching Harry and Max argue!
And what was the comment about eating lunch with Asta? “You eat a lot of food. I love foraging off all your plates.”
Watched last night, and was likewise fuzzy on remembering details from the end of Season 1. My wife looked up what happened to the doctor after the episode.
It's a good show to have back. It's a quirky mixture of humor and drama, scifi and mystery-building. And as with last season, so far, the...
Enjoyed an unexpected episode of "Zoey's Extraordinary Alien Resident" :) The reconciliation duet between the sheriff and deputy was out of left field and delightful.
I was perplexed by the Mayor's attitude towards the dinner party. I'd taken him as a gregarious people person, so showing him to...
The show has been inconsistent or unclear about Harry’s concealment. The pilot shows it was a wholly physical change. The stuff with Max says it’s mental projection. There was discussion near the start of the thread.
It is what it needs to be for the plot. :)
