No need to be a smartass, Larry. All I knew was that we felt a bit weird watching it after the fact as we DVR'd it and I GUARANTEE that if the VT shootings had happened a few days BEFORE this SNL, that would have been cut out.

cool, thought so. It definitely felt like a reference as we thought it was sorta funny (although very weird timing for us..) but the audience seemed to laugh alot more than we thought it warranted if it was non-referencey.

Did the short parody anything specifically? The music and the slo-mo seemed very distinct. Was creepy watching it tonite after the VA thing, (we have DVR'd it and not watched it until tonite...) I bet that sketch will never be shown again...

OK, just watched most of it. Wiig as the "one-upper" at the party was awesome. She's just so beyond almost everyone else on the show. She really gets into her characters and seems to actually (GASP!) know her lines most of the time and not just obviously read off the teleprompter like many...

Overall we liked it. Barrymore was VERY good at reading off the teleprompters (or maybe she just memorized an awful lot!) The scene with her going for the job was great. Amazing amount of energy. The cheesy 80's aerobics/softcore porn ahow was spot on. And, yes, I'm still a major Wigg-head!

Wiig's versatilty continues to astound us. She is my fave cast member. :)

wow, no comments on the "Jake" ep...? Thhought the "Dreamgirls" # was hilarious

tangent but one of the writers of the video clips, "lazy sunday" etc... His father works with us here at a theater in Berkeley!!!

I'll try.. Wiig is an absoulte chameleon. Compare her a-hole character to her "My Aunt..." movie reviewer on weekend update or her Target salesclerk one. Wig aside (pun intended...) she just looks like a completely different person each time. Her body language as well. It's pretty amazing...

I know last nite's was a repeat but I gotta say that Wiig as one of the a-holes just really does something to me... Last nite had the first one I ever saw of her as the character when they went tree shopping. :)

I agree, Wiig is phenomenally good IMHO. Not a great ep. Seemed like they didn't utilize Fox well or maybe it just isn't his thing. That Chocolate sketch was pretty awful. Tenacious, love 'em or hate 'em you gotta give them credit. They take the whole Spinal Tap is real thing to heart...

The first good SNL in eons. Most of the skits were good with a few being laugh out loud funny. And Beck was amazing. Puppets aside, he's very clever musically. The second song especially with the band playing percussion and the glasses was great. Usually we wind up skipping through the music...

I find Wigg doing "Astro" impressions really funny. "Ry-rel-roy..." had me cracking up.

The reason this ep was at least watchable was Reilly. MAN, did he give it his all, even the real crappy skits. He's so talented he just leaves the rest of the cast in the dust 1/2 the time. I too LOVE Wigg as one of the a-holes. I used to live in NYC and worked part time as a personal trainer...

My gf and I loved the Scorcese/Perez bit. We have been talking like Perez all week now. She nailed it. Pressley's appeal eludes us I guess, she might be cute to look at it in a very artificial way but has NO stage presence whatsoever and has no idea how to use her voice in a stage type...

Yup, when you laugh at your own jokes, (we counted at LEAST two times in the monologue when he did that) you know something just ain't all that funny...
