I'm holding out hope for May but it sounds like September is more likely at the earliest, supposedly all the seasons of Survivor and TAR are eventually going to be released, I don't get why they're being released so slow and why there's so much secrecy around them, tying them into premieres and...
Thanks Dave, The Amazing Race has the right idea releasing one season set by the premiere and one by the finale, the Survivor wait is reminding me of the early seasons of The Simpsons on DVD, but it could be a logistics thing depending on who they can round up for commentary, interviews and stuff.
I've been following the debate too and I agree with your no for both Survivor and TAR. A lot of people don't get OLN or don't even know they have it, I also think the DVD and syndication audiences are different. Just speaking for myself, even before the DVD era, I rarely ever watched anything in...
Someone at Sucks pointed out a listing for Survivor: Palau at Amazon.com. And if you click on the DVD's from The Survivor Series link, it shows February 17, 2005 as the release date, which I think is actually the date it premiered on CBS, just plain weird.
Thanks for that Pearl of wisdom Dave. ;) I remember reading rumors at the Sucks board of PI coming next a couple of months back, which then turned into Vanuatu, then TBD. Even though I'd like Paramount to release the seasons in order, I almost don't care about the order at this point as long...
He also just posted some menu shots here, looks good! Now if we can only find out what's coming next and when, I hope this doesn't turn into a long wait the first couple Simpsons seasons.
Rumor at the Survivor Sucks forum is that at least one more season is planned for this year, originally it was Vanuatu like mentioned above, but right now the next season to be released is up in the air. I'm hoping for Africa next, although they could sneak in Palau like they did with All-Stars...
Gord, I'm guessing this is probably a no since it didn't show up in your new item, but just curious if Paramount mentioned any more plans for Survivor after Outback, maybe Africa or Vanuatu?
I think the new footage from the recap may be sprinkled across the set, like the mock tribal council from the first episode. Still, it would have been nice to have the recap too, which would really make it The Complete Season.
Thanks, I just remembered Paramount has their 10-day poreview plociy so that makes sense. This was probably the best recap so far and I'm also not a big fan of them, hopefully they didn't leave off the America's Tribal Council either but I guess we'll find out soon.
Even though it's a long time away, it's great news if it's true. I wonder if they're also planning a quick release to DVD for Vanuatu like they did for All-Stars?
Thanks Anthony, hopefully All-Stars will have good slaes so we can get the rest of the earlier seasons as well. The two-week delay could also be good since the release will now also coincide with the Survivor: Vanuatu premiere.
Survivor Vanuatu is premiering on 9/16 so that could explain the delay to 9/14, especially the way they were promoting the S1 DVD towards the end of All-Stars.
They never said the season number on the promos for any season, it always goes by the name. I just thought it would be good to have some consistency on the cover.
