Jacob - my wiring is point-to-point from the utility room to the speaker sites. It wasn't passed through extra junction boxes at convenient locations for volume controls. My room isn't on the tour but I'll do a movie night this summer...

A little more about my in-wall speaker project... I already have speaker wiring pre-wired throughout my house in 9 locations. The amp end is concentrated in the utility room, and there are stereo pairs in the following rooms: master bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room...
