I don't know if Kathryn is better. I watched some of Janine's work from the last couple episodes and they're still awesome (the Matrix paso doble and the samba). I think J. has more performance energy, but based on K.'s exit interview on ew.com her focus on performance instead of technique is a...
After some great performances by all, my favorite is still Kathryn, though I would not complain if Ellenore or Jacob won. Next would be Russell, Ryan and Ashleigh, in that order.
I'm kind of tired of baggin' on Ashleigh. If she wins I'll pitch a fit, but otherwise I'm mostly ignoring her.
I guess people need a couple to root for ever since Jon and Kate split up. :D
Kinda had to chuckle at Ellenore's "wait a minute." I'm glad she made it through though. Mollee seemed genuinely bummed from the moment she found out she had to dance for her life.
Big upset with Legacy going out I think, though he's proved to be one classy, talented dude. His touching Mollee's...
I wonder if Ashleigh has enough of a fan base to stay in despite not competing? A smooth move from the hubbie during his moment...
The strongest couple for me was Ryan and Kathryn. Jacob and Mollee actually beat out Legacy and Ellenore as far as consistency. I didn't like the latter's hip hop...
Did it not run in a two-hour block on the East Coast? Or were there somehow more commercials than usual that I didn't notice? From all appearances on the West Coast the Obama address did not change anything.
Interesting change to the format without the interview package preceding the performances. I always thought they tended to plant seeds of expectation, whether high or low. Without them there's less chance of being influenced by anything except the performance (well, and the solos and individual...
Interesting that the new couple got axed. I would have preferred Nathan leaving. I thought Victor's solo was great. Nathan has this impetuous quality that grates.
In "Top Model" parlance, she would be "commercially hot" but that's definitely not a bad thing. I think anyone can recognize that regardless of their ethnicity. :)
I want Kathryn to go far also, but am dreading the moment when she either gets cut or wins the prize. You all know why. :)
I almost thought she was gonna go there when Legacy was explaining his tears.
The strong couples (Kathryn and Legacy; Ellenore and Ryan) continue to be strong while the others remain inconsistent. My bottom couple is again Nathan and Mollee, though Russell and Noelle's too-nice Samba did not impress either (though they redeemed their evening with their contempo number).
Ashleigh continues to put me off, even though I can recognize when she does OK.
Judges comments on Karen and Kevin were spot on and put into words what didn't feel right. And did Kevin surprise her with that kiss?
A nice number for Noelle and Russell with good chemistry. They also made an...
Yeah, kind of a tepid show with nothing really blowing me away. I did think Russell and Noelle, Legacy and Kathryn, and Victor and Channing were the stronger of them.
Interesting to hear critique of the choreo for a change (Viennese Waltz).
Adam's criticism was very interesting and constructive overall. I like having him as a regular.
Diorio's piece did the couple no favors. Bianca's elimination was no surprise nor was Philip's.
That samba was rough...
Favorite routines were Ryan and Ellenore and Legacy and Kathryn. The rest I found forgettable and found Nathan and Mollee's disco sloppy like Pat mentioned. But then I can't say I have found many discos very inspiring. Too bad Brandon got cut just when he got there. Ariana's cut was clear with...
I didn't get much out of the numbers until Mandy Moore's. The jazz one wasn't sexy to me, in part because of the costumes but the dancers still seemed too girlish. The Latin was ok but I was not thrilled with the choice of music. Actually that was the case with most of the routines.
That Kathryn chick needs to get a hold of herself or she's going to squeal her way out of the Top 20.
Channing sometimes looks like Kristen Bell (I expect some photo evidence Hanson).
If only Paula hadn't turned down her movie contract...
