Saturday Night Live - Season 32

I think audience pick was just for the digital short.

I found it interesting that the show followed the same pattern as a regular one with lame sketches towards the end. How did Maya Rudolph's national anthem oversing make it into a best of???

Hmm...I admit I saw the sketch when I was Sofa King sleepy and the next day when I pulled out the sketches I remember liking I skipped over that one. Now that I'm awake I get the joke. I'll just have to grab it when it runs again.

I love her too...I've loved her since before she was born...

Julia Louis-Dreyfus's second hosting didn't seem to have as many good moments as her previous one, though that one was the only good episode for the entire season IIRC.

Yeah, the track record for them has been so good that it was quite a disappointment.

The only thing I really liked was the Office spoof in the monologue, and that was mainly due (again) to Wiig's uncanny channeling of Jenna Fischer as Pam.

I thought it was pretty difficult NOT to notice. :)

So I missed the opening sketch. Was it any good? There were a few highlights with Barrymore; I liked Lily Allen best though.

So does Rich Little's Reagan sound like Hammond's Dan Rather? :)

Saturday Night Live - Season 32

Hmm...Hammond's Reagan sounded an awful lot like Dan Rather :).

Interesting timing for this re-run what with recent landmark events with Pelosi and Hussein. I've been anticipating this to re-air so I can add it to my collection.

Thanks, that was what I was wondering with my question, since your comments seemed to suggest there was something "extra" at work besides just a good wig and make-up. It makes sense - a geek wanting the cheerleader type of thing. Or Gunther wanting Rachel :).

So I'm curious about this particular attraction to Wiig as an a-hole. I'm assuming it's mostly about how she's dressed and made up (and perhaps the gum chewing). So does all that fit into the type of woman you're attracted to or is it so outside of it that it becomes an opposites attract kind of...

Interesting article about "Special Treat." http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/21/ar...rssnyt&emc=rss

So far it looks like guys with three letter last names that start with "y" and have two vowels in a row vs. everyone else. :D

Hmm...another case where bleeping is funnier than not. Plus I think "cock in box," which is what I figured they were beeping out, has more of a ring to it. Which begs the question, which do censors consider more bleep-worthy?

I thought Mad's was better too. I guess a person's guilt and contrition is more humorous than a person's hatred. :)

I think I would have enjoyed the Apocalypto trailer more if I hadn't already seen something similar on MadTV.

Another rough one, especially the quick pull out of the final sketch. Just as well, it wasn't very good. Stefani's number was very reminiscent of the bananas song, though I think more bizarre with the sampling of "Lonely Goatherd."

Saturday Night Live - Season 32

Poehler's "vagina monologue" was the best part of the show and the clip I've kept for my archives. The Mountain Man sketch would have been better if Fox had played it more surprised with Amy's mouth kiss. Still, I continue to be quite impressed with Wiig's ability to mine the humor from such...

I don't think anyone expected the bar to stay at that level. And who will be the first to make a "ludicrous" joke?

Decent episode. I always get a kick out of Tim Calhoun, though this time he was more creepy than socially awkward.

I liked seeing more of Kristin Wiig; everything else was "meh" for me.
