PAP2 is definately much better than the Cisco ATA, I know they are the same company now, but I would imagine the Cisco to be a little better. The linksys can defiantely handle the load better.

Steve, my cicso ata crapped out, and they sent me a better adapter, the linksys pap2, it has faxing capabilities, so hopefully I will be able to get me tivo's to dial out. Try to ask for it, I will let you know how I make out after my phones come back online.

Steve, I agree with you 100%! But do you think the cable company's are going to run their own fiber? I really don't think they can afford it. I think optimum online has ran some fiber, but I don't think company's like Comcast will. I forget what speed coax maxes out at, but fiber is the future...

I think it is the future for the internet. Being Verizon has the means to lay down the fiber, I think they might lease it out to other providers. So that Verizon doesn't get caught up in the whole monopoly thing. It is kind of what happens with T-1 lines and other circuits. In most cases if you...

I would blame your internet connection on that one. That 500k I am assuming is your download and can imagine you upload is about 70k - the upload is the more important number if you ask me. Do you have satellite internet? I have Comcast's 4000k download and 384k upload, soon going to the package...

Jeff, we have 2 cell phones in the house. They have the 911 GPS locator, so no getting bounced around from police station to police station anymore. We have excellent reception in the house. Plus we have the chargers that allow you to talk on the phone with full power while they are charging...

I have the verizon voip with comcast internet. No verizon or any analog line what so ever. However, verizon claims that you need to have a phone line to have dsl. I think it is a ploy just to make another few bucks.

I heard I was too, but the people at Verizon will not admit it even though it has been published. But I heard it from the DSL guys, when I called in to cancel the service. They told me to hang tight. They did also mention that any and all new developments will have fiber. I guess it makes sense.

I tried to get the dsl, I was like 11000 feet from the co. I was getting speeds like 600/100, I was not too happy. I went to Comcast and now I am getting 4000/384 and I am thinging about upgrading it to 6000/768. The FTTP is in doylestown, which is around 10 miles away, I can't wait for that...

I know that Verizon has been doing commercial setups for ever, residential is all new, and all of the service is dependant on the users internet connection really. All verizon or vonage are really doing is providing the dial tone. There are so many new phone companies emerging these days. I...

DonRC, why didn't I make the jump, well that I guess I really don't know. I somehow got roped into the Verizon, dsl/cellphone/directv combo discount. Then I found that the dsl to my house was just about dial-up, I wanted to cancel the whole deal. Then they mentioned the voicewing and I was able...

I have the Verizon VoiceWing service. It is really cheap for unlimmited calling. The thing is you lose in quality. I have Comcast High Speed Internet, the upgraded package, and it sometimes breaks up. As for the 911 issue, I have a cell phone with the 911 gps thingy in it, so you can use...
