    > The thing is, I'm not a sports nut. Not to mention American Football. I just want good drama. So, is liking football a prerequisite to enjoying the show? Here's my take: in England there was a show called Footballers Wives, set in the world of soccer. Being an American, I don't like or...

    > one of the reasons why TV on DVD is extremely popular IS for people who missed TV series to catchup on it. People on HTF, yes, but I don't think that's very true of the general public. I think most of them who even watch TV shows on DVD (probably still a small minority) are mostly watching...

    > Now if only people will discover it on DVD, the ratings might be higher. Unless their friends have told them about it, I don't see many people who didn't watch the broadcasts doing this. If they weren't interested enough to check it out on network TV... How much of the public checks out...

Excellent. I'm sure many people have never watched FNL since if they've heard of it, they assume it's just a sports show.

Yeah, why 6 scripts? Why not an order for at least 13 episodes? Can't NBC tell by now that the writing is good? Reading more scripts isn't going to tell them anything. But I guess since their schedule is so full of hits, they have to be cautious.

I was surprised the football season ended the way it did- before the finale I always assumed they wouldn't make it to the championship or would lose it, unless they knew for sure the series wouldn't be renewed.

    > I think the writers purposefully made it vague as to whether Mac said anything wrong or the reporter put words in his mouth. It was obvious the reporters were supplying the words. Coach would say something like "Smash is a talented athlete..." and reporters would jump in with "because...

    > I don't think the show advocated this position, since no character gave voice to it, but I think Mac was basically manipulated by the media. My thoughts, exactly. The reporters wanted to make some news, so they tried to stuff some words into the old coach's mouth, and who better to do that...

    > You can do an IMDb common cast/crew search and find a couple more Thanks. I didn't know there was such a search. I was just looking at the pages manually, plus noting what faces looked familiar. I'm surprised there aren't more football players from the movie in the show- it's not like...

I watched the movie last night & have to say I like the TV show much better, although the movie is still good. Best thing about the movie: that it DOESN'T have the usual sports movie cliched ending of the team winning the big game Is Connie Britton (coach's wife) the only actor who is in...

    > Does it drive anyone else nuts that the show is sponsored by AppleBees, and they always go to applebees in the show No, because it fits with the show, and they're not blatantly promoting it - like when they showed the sign but not the Applebee's name, I actually thought they had filmed at...

    > The concept of a whole town being so obsessed with a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds playing football games that it validates their very existence is depressing. It's pretty realistic, though.
