I recently saw Raiders Of The Lost Ark at my local Cinema. Founders Brewing Co. is having an ongoing series of classic films, with beer.

The Blu Ray projected on a large screen looked fantastic. The beer was pretty...
I watched the first three films(Woops forgot KOTCS). To me, The Temple Of Doom is the standout in the set. Not that the others looked bad...they all looked great. Indiana Jones And The Temple OF Doom however has won me over. Fantastic set, worth every penny.
I find it curious that the cobra reflection with Indy was digitally removed, yet the scene with Marion coming face to face with the snake in the well of souls still has an obvious refelction. Why would the second reflection not have been removed?
I was surprised at the bonus disc. I have always liked on set outtakes, and the like. So was I surprised that Raiders Of The Lost Ark has just under two hours of practically nothing but archival footage, and rare outtakes? Yes, and thank you Paramount!
I didn't know of the variables that could help alter the image at theaters. This could explain a lot of the 'warmer' colors I remember at the cinema looking 'cooler', or different on laserdisc, and dvd.
Thanks Mr. Harris.
Some people have photographic memories, so one can never tell just how much of the image they watched on the big screen was retained.
However, I think the most signifigant(and most noticable) aspect is the color timing of a film. That is indeed very noticable to even a casual observer if it is...
All I know is that this is a pretty good year for Blu-Ray. Jaws, E.T., and Indy. Add to that the complete Bond movies, Hitchcock set, and Universal monsters and I am one happy guy. Broke, but happy.
