Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

I don't have it in me to write a long speech about how I feel one year later, so I'll just say that I like it as much now as I did the first time. I also just HAVE to respond to Kevin's post: I must say, I saw this film 4 times at the show and not once was there hysterical laughter during...

Not to jump into the conversation like I've been here all along, but I had said long ago in an earlier thread that I believe as the PT goes along the dialogue will become less and less formal. You can already tell the dialogue is less stiff in AOTC than in TPM (except for love scenes where it...

I think of all this the same way as say, a Seinfeld episode or something. There is always a misunderstanding that could easily be corrected. Instead, it turns into some big, humorous and absurd 30 minute gag. Now, would it have been funnier to just correct it? Of course not, and the show would...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Star Wars tends to be subtle almost (but not quite) to a fault. But it is this style that breeds interpretation, and interpretation breeds discussion. This is why people love to discuss Star Wars. Robert sees no reason for the arena scene. I see it as a great and believable setup for an action...

What, you need everything spelled out for you? Is there no place for leaving things to your imagination?

You can also justify the arena scene as follows: Dooku is a guest on that planet. The Geonosians like to kill people as a spectator sport and Dooku felt obliged to let them do so in this case. A sort of "Thanks for letting me stay here in secret."

One of my favorite things about AOTC's asteroid chase was that there was no music through most of it. Just all those cool sound effects. Conversely, one of my my favorite things about ESB's asteroid chase was John William's music, which fit the chase absolutely PERFECT. I also thought "Git...

Regarding whether or not Lucas will tone down the FX, etc. for Ep. III based on the box office AOTC is doing: In the latest making-of, he tells John Knoll that there won't be anything as big as what went on in Clones & that the third one will be more intimate and personal like The Empire...

I just want to point out Robert that Lucas had help with all but the first installments of each trilogy. I assume you included AOTC as past "Lucas" experience when he had help with that one too. Of course, it's not like Lucas only writes notes of what the story is and then lets the screenwriter...

What you call "stilted acting, bad dialog", I call "the quirkiness that is Star Wars". What you call "awful pacing, too much exposition, questionable character development/reactions", I call "your opinion". What you call "awkward romance", I call "intentional".

Greg, as leader of W.A.L.L.O.P.: Wat Tambor Lovers Against Long-necked, Long-legged Otherworldly People I ask that you cease and desist with those ugly Taun We pictures. We have enough problems with our young, impressionable teens pressured into the "heroin chic" look, let alone a...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Regarding the Dex scene: If nothing else, it was pretty funny when he was hugging Obi Wan and one of his arms pulls up his pants. The three times I've seen this movie (so far), everybody was laughing. And I agree, Ewan looked very natural acting against nothing.
