"Might have..." While satisfying to think so, the ratings for the show were so poor that no amount of clamor from the small number of us who were fans of the show would probably have amounted to much.

What you did highlight, though, is a very troubling statistic for fans of genre programming: We viewers are clearly not making it worth broadcasters' while to keep these shows on the air. Eventually, it seems to me, they're going to have to "give up" on "us". If all we're (as a group) willing...
The way I remember it, no one expressed any interest in this show from the start, until after it was already completed, and then ABC said that they'd take it.
There are only three episodes left (and there was never any real chance of more episodes being ordered, from the very start), so you might as well stick it out. There's like NOTHING else on over the next three weeks.

My wife and I love it. It's a bit of a shame that it is a summer series. It doesn't have much hope of continuing with the ratings it is getting over the summer.
But great stuff. Two thumbs up.
