I think you're overthinking it. My wife and I enjoyed the episode a lot. It's a great show.

No offense, but Jericho sucked after the first season. It should never have been brought back.

My wife and I love it. It's a bit of a shame that it is a summer series. It doesn't have much hope of continuing with the ratings it is getting over the summer. But great stuff. Two thumbs up.
