My take on Chas was that he was a half breed, but either Constantine didnt see for some reason it or he simply didnt mention it. I dont think Chas was breaking the rules, it seems his main mission was not helping Constantine fight hell, but trying to influence Constantine to do good.

I was dismayed to see that most major reviewers gave this such low marks. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but for gods sake the nytimes said this was worse then van helsing. I am starting to think a lot of respected critics go into the theater with their review already written...
