For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

Yes .. Indeed, Cliff'em All does have live footage of Dave Mustaine playing with them.

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

I think we are all fans here ... otherwise we would not be posting. One thing I like is that they are playing all old stuff on the current Euro Tour, wonder if this will be the case on the Summer tour here. Like any old veteran band, they should realize that people goign to see them want...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

I really wanted to like this record ... really did. But I know what the band is really capable of and the brilliant stuff they can write (or at least used to write) and this is just not up to par. Not only is it not up to par to Metallica standards, it is not up to par for todays rock/metal...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

You know your career is over when on your own Message Board, there are more negative threads about the record than good ones. Check: http://www.metallicabb.com/forum/ for proof!

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

Well I just listened to the whole record, thanks to a French website having all the tracks to download, and now I really know it blows. This is not even fast or melodic or heavy ... this is one confused, old and tired band. I am not sure who those early reviewers were that were hyping the...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

I was just thinking this today ... has there ever been another band in the history of music (or rock and metal) that has completely alienated their original fanbase in such a drastic manner as Metallica? Sometimes the whole thing seems surreal to me.

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

My main issue with Metallica of today is the lack of passion ... there is a lot of talk coming out of that camp, but nothing backing it up. http://www.clevescene.com/issues/200...l/1/index.html Like that reveiw above states, all the music sounds Scotch taped together and it feels that...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

Steven I will say this again as I think I mentioned this in this thread before. My main problem with Metallica is that they were innovators, they single handedly invented a genre (speed/thrash metal) and then honestly lost it all and became immitators of bands that they originally...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

I am not sure how I feel about these tracks. They sound like the band is trying too hard. They do not sound natural but rather contrived. And this "stop-n-go" as opposed to flowing songs reeks of nu-metal. All this being said, I will probably pick this up, for completist reasons alone...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

Well here is a full blown track ... the title track. St. Anger This is really dissapointing after all the positive hype. Yes, it is better than Load and Reload, but it still gutless and uninspired not to mention very cut together. These stop-n-go riffs are annoying. Can't Metallica...

That new sound clip sounds more promising than anything before. Is it just me or does the way James sing the line "fuck it all and no regrets, I hit the lights ..." ... he sounds like Dave Mustaine :D

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

Going back to the "complexity" of the material at hand on the early releases and then the last two ... To me, it sounds like almost two different bands. IN ALL RESPECTS. The last two releases were almost, weird rock, country, heavy in certain ways, but I do not even consider them metal...

For Metallica fans ... re: new record!

I am going to attempt to add some things here again. This Metallica debate has been raging for a lot of years now so really none of us are adding anything new that we have not heard before ... but here it goes anyway :) My opinion is that LOAD and RELOAD, not so much the BLACK album, were...
