Great news at TVShowsOnDVD.com. :) Big :emoji_thumbsup: to Carsey Werner for correcting their mistake. I'd love a corrected season 1 but I'm very excited that we're at least getting the rest of it done correctly.
Although I don't buy the music cues thing for a second (that does NOT explain why syndicated versions were used), it is a little reassuring to read this:
Hopefully this person asks about a possible corrected reissue of season 1.
I think that in the grand scheme of things, everyone boycotting the release realizes that this is not important at all. Am I going to kill myself because The Cosby Show DVD set included edited episodes? Of course not. But I am disappointed with CW/UrbanWorks' decision to release edited episodes...
I haven't seen any of them full-length either, but I think it could be a big deal that there is missing footage that you will never get a chance to see.
Well, a lot of people would say the same about the release of Survivor (admittedly, it is a current show but a lot of people felt the show wouldn't sell very well when the outcome is known). The first season was in the top 20 DVD sellers at Amazon the week it came out. So I think it says a lot...
Jaime's right, it doesn't even mention The Cosby Show.
I don't think they'd be stupid enough to do that, although I guess I shouldn't put it past them.
I would--and I'd probably pick up Season 1 too. I'd be a little frustrated, but I'd be very happy if they corrected their mistakes in the future (hopefully reissuing a correct season 1 is in the cards at some point).
I noticed listings on Amazon that make it seem as though these are, in addition to the season box set, being released individually as well: Eps 1-8 Eps 9-16 Eps 17-24
