Well, another year of great releases on this 'dying' physical format.

That's it. I could lose my films & music & books in a fire or have them stolen (mind you, who would steal books & CD's these days!), but no one on the other side of the world is going to make them disappear by the click of a mouse.

Let's face it, it's a struggle for all disc formats, CD's & DVD's as well as Blu-rays, & books are having a hard time of it. Things change, but there's still a lot of interesting Blu's being released, lots of good stuff this year (& I'm still buying CD's). Don't panic!

Call me shallow, but I love owning stuff, all kinds of things. Junk to a lot of people, but treasure to me. I read somewhere (it could have been here) that a good Blu-ray was as good as owning a print. Maybe people in the future won't feel like that, they'll live in a minimalist white room with...

Yup, I agree with Eddie. It's been an excellent year for catalogue releases, & we're only five months in.

I don't know about dying, it's struggling, but then all physical media is. It's a brave new world a'coming!
