Ah, but does the isolated music track still exist? I can't help but think that if it did it would have been released on CD by now. Maybe the album tracks are all that's left.
No I don't have it, I read that it wasn't so hot.http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=177753And I thought it was stereo, but checking around the net I'm not so sure now.
United Artists weren't nearly as bad as Columbia for archiving their music tapes. If only all studios were as good as Fox & MGM, then we'd have a lot more original score tapes. I hope the stereo combined tracks survive for Taras Bulba, as I understand that the Australian Blu-ray is mono, & when...
I've just thought of one (I'm sure I haven't named it in this thread)...The Last Valley 1971. A really beautiful looking film, & what a John Barry score! So a 4k scan & isolated score please. Wouldn't it be great if it actually happened.
I think you'll have a lot wait. I don't think the missing songs were filmed or even recorded!I don't mind, I've only ever seen the film, set in ancient Rome, but very "swinging sixties", & beautifully shot by Nicollas Roeg. But for Twilight Time to release any of the stuff listed here, they...
Yes...The Vikings! Blu-ray doesn't seem like it's arrived until that's released...& of course, Taras Bulba, Tom Jones, Irma La Douce, What's New Pussycat, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, a compleat & restored The Charge Of The Light Brigade (1968). I'd better stop there...oh...
Yes, but there won't be an isolated music track for Taras Bulba as the music tapes are missing. There is a Blu released in Austraila, but in mono!! & I understand that the picture's nothing to write home about.
Yeah, all those horrible non-anamorphic 1:66 releases. I've gotten pass the stage where everything has to be perfect, after all, the top transfers now probably won't pass muster in a few years time.
Wow, forty films! That was some viewing session for Brian Jamieson & Nick Redman (not all at once I'm sure). Not that that's enjoyable, as looking for faults, the usual thing is to turn down the sound & just concentrate on the picture, & it's no fun when a favorite film doesn't quite make the grade.
Well thinking of TT prices plus the p&p to the UK, I'll just list four that I'd have to buy:The VikingsTaras BulbaWhat's New Pussycat?A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The ForumI would list The Alamo, but I understand it's in no state for an HD release, hang your heads in shame MGM.
