I say split the difference between archives and regular release. Bait the market with a nice competitively priced two disc set of maybe the first two movies (hopefully in better shape) release one best of box set of four-eight movies to pressed disc that have the best films/prints available...

I would propose a compromise. Have multiple volumes of the Bowery boys, but don't mix up the actual order ala the Looney Tunes. Instead each volume release is chronological. Let the first release be from the later years starting with one of the best bowery boys followed by the next five-ten...
