Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

as for the 'moron' who asked the question, nobody asked, "is Dumbledore gay?" The question was: No one was accusing you of homophobia, so why are you so ardently, preemptively defending yourself. I think this if anything adds a heartbreaking texture to Dumbledore's backstory...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

I think Voldie AKing Harry after using Harry's blood insured that the horcrux in Harry would be destroyed but Harry would not. Before using his blood, Voldie killing Harry would have been like Voldie killing Nagini simply destroying the horcrux, which is a container for a bit of soul. By using...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Emma Thompson makes a lot of sense, as the maker of the prophecy. A teacher we know needs to be lost there for the film, imo. I was thinking one thing I would do in a film adaptation is the times when they're in Grimmauld Place or the forest that while they are doling out info or preparing...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Dumbledore just planned on Harry surviving by sacrificing himself with the intent to protect and save others so that Voldemort would be vulnerable. I think he planned on leaving it up to Harry (if Harry lived) in terms of how Harry would finish off a horcruxless Voldemort. Dumbledore didn't...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

adaptation to film thoughts: It's occured to me that one of the biggest changes the filmmakers might make is to have the opening murder be McGonnagal rather than random teacher never mentioned before. It would have a much greater impact, and because McGonnagal doesn't affect the final battle...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

I love the symmetry that that spell Harry used to defeat Voldemort (well being master of the Elder Wand helped) was the first spell he learned from Snape, as well as being the first dueling or attack spell he learned. :) Any spell would have reflected Voldemort's killing curse back at him, but...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

As someone who unreservedly loves the epilogue (in fact it's one of my favorite two or things about the book) I can also understand why people don't like it. But to me it's so literary, elegant and full of a sort of magic we haven't really seen Harry use before--what it's like to have a family...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

my favorite part How Harry walked through the dementors using the hallow stone. Wow. King's Cross was an amazing scene, and I never expected Dobby to get the Boromir death. Definitely the most powerful loss of the book, imo. Here lies Dobby, a Free Elf. :*)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!

Wonderful book it feels so complete I don't really want to discuss anything or read others thoughts on it. I'm just immensely and totally satisfied. A perfect ending to the series. That said I still think Half Blood Prince is my favorite because of the balance between the comedy of manners and...
