The whole "DP" thing and the diagram were probably the highlights of the episode. And the Ctuhlhu reference. Normally it would say something like "to be continued" if it were a two-parter, but who knows?
It's cool of them to own up to it, but you'd think they would be more careful. I wonder if there'll be a nod to Heath Ledger's Joker in the new Coon episode (I haven't seen the promos yet).
I turned this episode off when they started spoofing Inception because I haven't seen it yet. Was there anything that could be considered a serious spoiler for the movie?
Someone said something about what the families of the 9/11 victims would think about asking al-Qaeda for help, and Randy responded that they'd only need to worry about that for another 10 months. I'm not sure what that meant either. (Aside: this episode of Ugly Americans was much improved...
I've been watching South Park since that original videotape was getting passed around Hollywood, and I think they may have finally gone a little too far for me. Otherwise it was a decent episode. Adam, I kept thinking of Fred Armisen's Paterson impersonation.
Ron, to get me actually mad at you, you'd have to hate NASCAR and, I don't know, murder my sister or something. If it doesn't interest you that's perfectly reasonable; I was just curious because "detest" is a rather strong word. (Anyway, I am what you might call a casual NASCAR fan.)
While it wasn't the funniest episode, it definitely had its moments and they did a good job of organically (for a better word) throwing together all those old gags.
So, should we take bets on whether Cartman's dad is Mr. Hat or Mitch Connor? :)
Other than the Tron stuff, this episode was thoroughly blah for me. It felt like they decided to pick on Facebook, went with their usual formula of everybody in town becoming obsessed with some new element of pop culture, and then ran out of creative steam.
Overall, it wasn't bad, but still not as good as the premiere episode. I saw the ball-hopping coming from a mile away, but the music they used with it had me in hysterics.
