The first part of that monologue was really depressing, both because of the invasion of NYC by bland retail and restaurant chains and because at the time it aired I was watching the last half-hour or so of The Departed, which totally went off the rails at that point.

Yeah, that short is classic SNL -- 90 seconds of comedy stretched out to 3.5 minutes. :D
