Agreed. Spielberg generally works with pretty well known actors so I tend to think that he'll cast an established actor in his 30's and that he feels is right for the role over going for someone with a resemblance to Steve McQueen.
Correct. Based on the info out there, saying that this is a remake is like saying that one of Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey is a remake of one of the Basil Rathbone ones. Same character, new story.
I forgot about that one. Off the top of my head, the others would be the two Jurassic Park movies and Always and that's going back over 30 years of work. The man loves the past and the future. :)
EDIT: War Of The Worlds from 2005 is modern day too.
When was the last time that Spielberg made a movie set today? :laugh:
Also, there seems to be the feeling that this is a remake and from everything I've seen, it's not a remake. They're using the same character in a new story.
